Proof it Works
Time-tested wisdom from across the world
For hundreds of years, Asian parents have passed down the time-tested wisdom to keep baby's belly covered both to comfort and to keep children warm naturally to boost overall health.
When the body's core is warm, the body sends more blood to the arms and legs, increasing warmth throughout the body. When the core is cold, the body’s natural defense system keeps blood for the brain and vital organs, decreasing circulation to the extremities.
Keeping your child warm to the core also aids muscle development—and in helping baby (and you!) to sleep soundly.
In an effort to scientifically illustrate this, we put our stretchy, secure tummy warmer to the test and here's what we found.
“We conducted a thermal imaging study on babies wearing the Tum Tum using an infrared camera system,” says Grant Schaffner, Ph.D., president of ProtoStar Engineering and a former NASA contract scientist. “The results provide strong indication that the Tum Tum garment warms the core and extremities of the babies wearing it.”
The scientific proof is so exciting, it got our blood pumping!
